long term sleep medications

whats a good long term sleep medication i've been on trazidone and am currently taking temazepam only.  Trazidone doesnt work and i have a tolerance for the temazepam now whats a medication i should try next?

I'm not a medically trained expert so I'll leave the recommendations to them.  Of course they will tell you to consult with your own doctor for the best evaluation.

Hi Ray,

I'm not a physician, so I don't want to recommend a specific medication, but you might want to consider some non-drug alternatives such as:

 

Neurofeedback:  Simply put, when undergoing neurofeedback therapy you are "training your brain," to do what it's supposed to do, in your case, sleep better.  You might find a Neurofeedback Provider here.

 

Even if you are taking meds. for sleep, I still recommend abdominal breathing which you can read about in these articles:

Learn to Relax and Let Go

Breathing Lessons

 

Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) is also very helpful for sleep.
