what can i do at home to deal with these nightmares/terrors?

i do not have insurance.i have been having these things since i can remember and it is evry single night.i am to the point i am waking up crying because i can't take it anymore.i am 35 yrs old and can't remember ever having a nights sleep without nightmares.i just need something i can do to make them stop.i am getting to be terrified to go to sleep.my girlfriend tells me i get up in the night and act out these nightmares but i never remeber doing so.i sometimes remeber the nightmares in the morning but usually it is partially and the memory never lasts long.can you help me?
