It must be very scary if this is someone you care about! What did they diagnose him with at the hospital? What followup care did they recommend? If you or he are unclear, start by going to a general practitioner and have that doctor request his medical records from the hospital.
Given the amount of information that you've given, I would just be making guesses at what is going on. The best course of action is for you to seek proper medical care.
