Q: I left my ambien 10 mg pills in my apartment for a week at 85 deg F. Will the pills still work?

I returned home tonight and quickly cooled the apartment.  I took my ambien pill 2 hours ago, and I am still awake.  Are the pills ruined now?  Will maintaining the correct range of temperatures at all times going forward somehow reverse the damage of these pills that were stored at 85 deg. F?

Exactly what are all the adverse effects of storing ambien at temperature not included in the acceptable temperature range.

Hi Rebelmm22,

Thank you for your question. I was unable to find any information that says what will happen to the medication if stored outside the recommended range of 68-77 degrees Fahrenheit. However, if the medication was damaged, there is no way to fix it. It is possible that the high temperature damages the chemical structure of the medication, but I don't know how hot it would have to get to cause that damage. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Best of luck,

Casey
