From what you are describing it sounds very much like attacks of apoplexy which is often a sure sign of narcolepsy- My mother had this condition for the majority of her life and it took many years before any medical doctors took her seriously and began to address the problems- I have many sleep disorder problems and it is only recently that narcolepsy has begun to become a problem for me- I work with some excellent doctors who are helping me to understand + cope with these disorders- Today there is much more knowledge about sleep disorders and possible treatments- I would take action and seek medical help with a neurologist to assess the boy's condition- Most young people are very active and his well being + safety are 2 very important things to address-
