Hi Sally,   Check with your doctor, but most antianxiety meds take 20-30 minutes to take effect.   You might want to check out part one of my shareposts about dealing with anxiety triggers, where I specifically discuss strategies that can be used for managing anxiety during an MRI.   Regards,   Jennifer L.
