Q: what kind of work can a nacolepsy patient perform?

Full time work that have benefits that would be  ok with the problem yu are suffering from? I have a 4 year old that attends daycare during the day  so I need a job in the daytime. And how do you put that on your application for employment  that you fall asleep throughout the day?

Hi Barbara, Thanks so much for your question.

You may first want to read our Understanding Narcolepsy material.  Then you may want to see our sleep disorder reource guide to review and contact some of the organizations that focus on sleep disorders.  There are two inparticular that I think might be helpful.

Hope this helps.  All the best, sue (moderator)

I get reasonable accommodations and all that, however it's simply not realistic to even get out of bed and make it to a job that would accommodate you.  I've found that working at home, through internet marketing is the only thing that works for me. I own an online candle business.  I can still sleep 19+ hours a day and work at business inbetween naps on my own schedule.  There are plenty of legitimate work at home opportunities out there, just be sure to do thorough research.
