Q: My husband broke his nose 2 times and had surgery twice while on active duty in 2002 and 2003. He separated from the military in 2007. Now he has been diagnosed w/ OSA. Can he get disbility for this?

He has a documented letter he wrote while in the military requesting to see a civilian MD for problems breathing, gasping for air at night, etc, but was never ordered a sleep study (he did not even know such a condition existed.) I sent him to the doctor after I started working nights and would come home to find him having 45 second periods of apnea. Now he has been diagnosed with sleep apnea, and is going to require a CPAP machine. Is he elegible for disability since he clearly developed this condition in the military after he broke his nose twice and had surgery twice? I do not want to waste my time filling out all the paperwork, sending medical records, etc, if it is a complete waste of time. His nose is totally crooked too, clearly a botched job by the plastic surgeon.lol. The ENT says one of his nares is 70% blocked.
