Since drowsiness is a common side effect of Trazodone, it is prescribed for some people who suffer from insomnia or other types of sleep disturbances.
Your best bet is to talk to your physician or a psychiatrist about whether taking Trazodone is a good idea for you in particular.

Hi I am a bipolar woman who takes trazadone every night for sleep none of the regular sleep medications work for me I fall asleep fast and can still get up with my three year old I never want to wake up but as soon as i get up the effects start to wear off and i feel refreshed I was prescribed 150mg and take a half most nights and a whole on occaision
