Quality of production pay sleep studies for technologists

RPSGT arrives at 7pm

2 patients arrive between 8pm and 9pm

PSG or CPAP titration is done

Studies are scored by tech during night and after patient leaves

Techs always are gone from lab by 6am

In order to be paid, tech must have 4 hrs on study, have it scored, laid out for MD and then is responsible for faxing all paperwork to DME for CPAP set-up

90% of referrals come from physician owner of lab

Owner is telling patients if they don't get a sleep study soon, they could die.

Is this normal procedure for most sleep labs? I am concerned about the quality of care as my wife has been advised to get a study done at this lab. The lab has 2 techs and one of them told me how it works there since lab was purchased by MD. After purchasing the lab, referrals from this MD increased dramatically. The MD has a clinic and a sleep MD who works for the clinic interping the studies.
