Q: when in your body the hormone prolactin increase then is it due to stress and tension and does it causes cyst in your body parts say in your pitutary gland and in breast or in uterus
Elevated prolactin can be caused by several conditions such as tumor on the pituitary gland, breastfeeding, certain drugs (antidepressants and antipsychotics). There is some evidence that continued elevated prolactin especially toward menopause may contribute to breast cancer. Not sure about uterus or other body parts.
