my brother sleeps alot, but he sits up and falls asleep landing on his nose

Everytime we come to visit my brother sleeps...laying down or sitting up. He does work very hard and takes care of our 92 year old mom. Who, by the way, does not want to come to our house to visit or stay. But I worry about him falling asleep sitting up, waking up every few hours to smoke a cig. Also, he has to sleep with the TV on, I'm sure that has something to do about it. But he needs a good nights sleep so he can be rested.
