Hi Anthony, 10 years is a long time to have insomnia, even if it is "off and on." You must be frustrated! Hopefully I can point you in the right direction. 1. When is the last time you had a complete Physical? This is important because you want to try to rule out a physical cause for your insomnia. 2. Consider your treatment options. Medication can help you fall asleep, but other therapy can help cure insomnia.  So, consider the following: Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) Neurofeedback Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)   I hope that helps.  You can look for a CBT therapist on the Psychology Today website.  You can search for a Neurofeedback therapist at EEG Spectrum Insitute and at EEG Info. Please write back and let us know what route you pursue and how it has helped/not helped!   Regards, Dr. Jennifer Fee www.drjenniferfee.com www.thestressmasters.com
