Q: My daughter is 8 months old and after a really bad cough and cold at christmas her sleep has never recovered.

She naps at 9am and 2pm, goes into her cot awake in her grobag and after a few minutes goes to sleep. Approx 45 mins and up to 2 hours on the second one. At bed time we have had the same routine for approx 6 months, stories, bath, bottle, bed. She usually goes down ok and over the last week we have ditched the dummy from all day time and most of the night. The problem is however she is waking up for anything up to 3 hours at a time. She is crawling around her cot, whinging/crying, wont settle. We've tried controlled crying last night for 3 hours and she was still awake, and that method does not seem to be working. any ideas why she is awake for such a long time every night and what i can do? its knackering the whole household out. I cant sleep through it as we have the monitor on otherwise i wouldnt then hear her in the morning. Very sleep deprived and its been going on a month. HELP!
