My 16-year-old son has suffered from insomnia for more than five years.

His doctors can find no primary cause, and yet my son simply cannot get a restful night's sleep. He complains that he "can't turn off" his brain, which is leading me to investigate a neurological origin. Like many others, we have no health coverage, and I'm not optimistic that that will change. Where can I find resources to help my son? Information, advice, clues to research, etc. I've looked into a sleep deprivation clinic, but there are none near us. We've tried milk at bedtime, Tylenol or aspirin, melatonin, calming routines, no videos or TV for two hours before bedtime, chilly room, different bed, staying up all night in the hope of sleeping the next night; there's been no mprovement. I'd appreciate whatever help you can offer.
