can hardly sleep

for the past 10 years or so, i can seem to work on 4 hours of sleep. im energetic and what not. but my question is, when i do go to bed, i have so many thoughts racing through my head that it is very hard for me to sleep, i often wake up at night.

This has happened to me before also.  My doctor prescribed me a medicine that helps with this also.  Sometimes the medicine don't work the way I wish it would, but at times when I have so many things on my mind I would get up and read a book, watch some TV, or just go on the computer.  Then when I do lay down it usually works to get the things off my mind enough to fall asleep.

I am the same way.Any answers.Now i woke up the other day with a lower back pain.I have a hard time falling asleep i am up and down and all over the bed and tapping my foot to try to go sleep.My head feels empty i am trying all kinds of herbs,i am also going thru menaupause .I get hot and then i get cold.I try to stay possitive and not worry.Its hard sometimes.
