Q: Insomnia, restlessness, gasping for breath

I have been suffering from restlessness, insomnia and waking up gasping for air when I do finally fall asleep.  My meds that I'm taking now are: 100mgs Sertraline that I've taken for over 10 years, 50mgs of Atenolol, 40 mgs of Pravastatin and I just started taking .25 mgs of Clonazepam as needed which I've been taking at night after my restless fits which helps for a couple of hours.  I'm 5'4", 165lbs and I walk 5 miles 2-3 times a week.  I could really use a regular 7 hours straight and am desperate for any advice.

As far as the insomnia part of your sleep problem, my suggestion is nocturne by Prescription Audio http://www.prescriptionaudio.com/. Its a sound therapy solution that you listen to before going to bed and it guides you into a deep sleep and leaves you feeling refreshed when you wake up. If you are looking for an alternative non-drug treatment, this might actually work for you. Hope that helps!
