Once you get home and are quiet, you may be dwelling on things that tend to be avoided when you are "busy and engaged."  Why not use your quiet time to make a list of things that are "getting you down" or "stressing you out" and then see if you can create "antidotes to each issue."  Also consider some quiet meditation time to work on the things that are making you feel depressed.  If the situation is ongoing, you might consider finding a therapist to see if you need professional guidance.
