Ropinirole starter kit is used to help gradually increase your dose when you begin treatment for restless legs syndrome (RLS). By decreasing the urge to move your legs and decreasing uncomfortable/unpleasant feelings in the legs, ropinirole may help you sleep better. This medication is thought to work by helping to restore the balance of a certain natural substance (dopamine) in the brain.
This medication is also used to treat Parkinson's disease. However, the dose is usually higher and the tablets taken more often for Parkinson's than for RLS. The starter kit is not usually used for starting treatment of Parkinson's disease because it does not have the right strengths or number of tablets.
