AAA: Driving sleepy as bad as driving drunk

Driving when you are drowsy can be as dangerous as driving drunk, according to the American Auto Association. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that 56,000 crashes a year are caused by sleepy drivers. A police officer in Florida was fired recently after video from her car showed her swerving into oncoming traffic and hitting parked cars. She said it was because she had worked late the night before and taken over-the-counter as well as prescription sleep aids. Read more »
