Medicare may allow sleep apnea tests at home

Under a new proposal, Medicare may soon approve treatment for sleep apnea when the breathing disorder is diagnosed by a test that can be done at home. Currently Medicare will pay for continuous positive airway pressure machines if apnea is diagnosed in a sleep lab. Home testing units are cheaper and less hassle than a trip to the doctor but not as reliable in diagnosing the disorder. Read more »
