Melatonin And Bowels

A clinical trial is underway in Great Britain to determine if melatonin supplements can ease ulcerative colitis. Melatonin is a hormone that helps regulate the body clock as well as gut inflammation. In a previous study, researchers found that nearly half of the patients with irritable bowel syndrome who took the supplement for eight weeks showed signs of improvement when compared to patients who took a placebo.
