Protein may indicate mental disability in kids with sleep apnea

A study has found a protein associated with heart disease may indicate mental disability in kids ages 5 to 7 who suffer from sleep apnea. Higher levels of C-reactive protein--a marker of inflammation--are a common side effect of sleep apnea. Researchers found these protein levels significantly increase among children with sleep apnea and mental disability. Read more »
