Cancer patients often have trouble sleeping because of cancer
symptoms or side effects of treatment. Treatment schedules and
hospital stays can also disrupt sleep patterns. M.D. Anderson
Cancer Center has opened a dedicated sleep center for cancer
patients to help them solve sleep problems. When a cancer patient
is referred to the center, four trained sleep specialists perform a
physical examination, a profile of the sleep concerns, and an
overnight assessment of sleep.
