Study links narcolepsy and eating disorders

A small study has found that people with narcolepsy also often report a persistent craving for food and binge eating. Among the 60 patients with the sleep disorder, 23 percent met criteria for a clinical eating disorder compared with none of 120 people in the control group. An increase in body weight is a common symptom of narcolepsy, but few studies have studied eating disorders among narcoleptics, researchers said. Read more »
