New sleep medication treats night waking
Transcept Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has submitted an application to the Food and Drug Administration for a new prescription sleep medication for people who have trouble falling back to sleep after waking up at night. During two clinical trials, Intermezzo significantly reduced the time for patients to return to sleep as compared to placebo. Also, patients didn't feel any drowsiness the following day.
