Sleep deficit linked to cancer risk

Researchers say that women who get too little sleep may be putting themselves at risk for cancer. A study of 5,968 women in Maryland found that those who exercised regularly reduced their cancer risk, but only if they got enough sleep. Among the physically fit women, those who got fewer than seven hours of sleep per night had a 47 percent higher risk of developing cancer. Experts say the reason for the link is still a mystery, but they point out that getting adequate rest has long been associated with overall good health.
