Internet-based therapy may treat insomnia

A new software that uses quizzes, stories, and games may help people who suffer from insomnia, experts say. The Sleep Healthy Using the Internet, or SHUTi program, is a nine-week internet-based program that can help patients develop better sleep habits--particularly if they live in an area far from a sleep therapist. A study of 22 patients found that patients who used the software woke up fewer times and spent fewer minutes awake during the night, even six months after treatment.
