Insomnia linked to high blood pressure

A new study published in the journal Sleep has found that people who suffer insomnia may also have heightened nighttime blood pressure. Canadian researchers say that years of chronic insomnia and hypertension could lead to serious heart problems. The lead scientist on the study says that blood pressure is linked to classic sleep-wake patterns, and he warns that people who already have heart problems and also experience insomnia may experience a heart-disease progression.
