After my hospitalization, seven bills…

I went through a battery of tests for some issues I’m mostly cleared on a month ago.
For the last three days I’ve received not one, but SEVEN bills for my endoscopies:
- Five from my hospital:
- $100
- $328
- $24.35
- $17.67
- $25.00
- $67.00
- $26.00
One from the pulmonologist in the emergency room:
One from some group I’ve never heard of:
all have sophisticated calculations of what I was charged (in the thousands), with AETNA’s “allowables” and these bills reflect the difference.
HOW THE F— DO I KNOW IF ANY OF THIS MAKES ANY SENSE AT ALL?
And it’s not worth a day of my life to figure it out. But what about 99% of humanity who can in no way pay $500 or $600 (let alone thousands) on their own??
We must be able to do better.
The more confusion that is generated the more profit there is for those who leave us with so much confusion, as we simply cope with our illnesses, we can never make ANY sense of the MESS to find the answers we need. We call to inquire and are placed on endless hold or sent/referred to someone that refers us someone else that refers us…… The INSANITY is never ending and it is ALL GENERATED simply to leave us beyond confused so we will be left with trying to survive our illness while the SYSTEM of medical delivery continues to KILL US through their methods of PROFIT by CONFUSION. We are left lost in the darkness with a desperate need for CHANGE where the LIGHT OF SANITY can be located and switched on at last!!!!
