HealthCentral gathers over lunch to discuss the effects of Google Instant

Submitted by on September 16, 2010 – 1:06 pm5 Comments

The team just gathered over some pasta to listen to our SEO and Analytics Manager, Dan Marschinke and Director of Patient Engagement, Veronica Combs collaborate on Google’s latest feature at the moment – Google Instant.  Dan was hot on the case last week with his initial blog post, “What Does Google Instant Mean for Health Searches?” Inside, Dan gives his predictions on search ranking in SEO, behavior affects, and the importance of this new feature.

Veronica followed up with a survey to our bloggers and expert patients to see what they thought of Google Instant.  Most were unimpressed by the new addition.  Some found that they were offered the search terms they were seeking and others found it annoying while trying to type mid-keyword.  Check out her blog post,“Health bloggers: ‘Instant’ gratification not so great,” for more details.  So far this is the only raw survey data on the new feature from users.

Thanks again to Dan and Veronica for enlightening us on this new feature and the effects it will have on SEO and users.  Check out their posts for more information.
