Whether we have a chronic disease or something else that presents a challenge in everyday life, we all do what we have to do to get through each day. Sometimes that means simply putting one foot in front of the other. But if we stop to recognize what we're up against, we can face our obs...

Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 08:38 PMJane,
I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed the beginning of your story, and even how much more I am waiting to hear its conclusion. I sense that there is going to be a very strong life lesson behind it, and I am looking forward to reading it, for I believe that people can always learn from others' experiences. I must also tell you that I could relate to the part of your story where you wrote about the hypothetical instance where one would be able to arrange one's life simply by checking off attributes that one saw fitting for one's life off a list--I think that most of us wish that such was the case at some point or another, but the reality of life is that such is never the case. I suppose that this reality is not completely discouraging though, because by not being able to assemble our lifes by selecting items off a list we are also leaving ourselves open to the best surprises that life has to offer. How boring would life be if we knew about every good thing that could ever happen to us? Thank you once again for your gripping story. I am looking forward to hearing the end.

Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 05:23 PMSo true, CAM, the reality of not getting 'what we ordered' is far from discouraging. It is so often, although a hardship, much more emotionally enriching than what we thought was best for us. I don't think we always know what is best for us.
I hope you like reading the conclusion as much as I enjoyed writing it!
Jane.

You have an excellent and dynamic style, and a strong sense of drama and suspense. As a reader I can see how passionately you feel about your subject, and can relate to that passion. I would like to see you write more...perhaps a novel. I can't wait to see what happens next, and that's what storytelling is all about, isn't it?

Jane, you've done a masterful job of storytelling and left us hanging at just the right spot! (You should write for TV primetime!)
The subject, of course, is serious, and as you suggest, applies to life in general. I can't wait to read the next installment. Your story promises to be more than a superficial read.
Great job!
