Monday, February 04, 2008 at 10:50 PMDear Moonstruck:
Congratulations! You are on your way to a healthier and indeed happier life. I too am an ex-smoker and it really has been the best thing to have donef or myself. You just don't realize how poorly you feel as a smoker until you stop.
There are two main areas of our site - check them out and see if they help. I suspect somethign will catch your eye and help you along the journey to quit.
You can find information on Stop Smoking and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease coverning the basics of how to stop, addiction help and more.
As well, our section on managing the cessation has lots of resources covering withdrawal, living smoke free, drug information.
Tell us how its going - we are hear to listen.
All the best, Sue

Hi, Moonstruck.
Losing weight and quitting smoking are both important ways we can make ourselves healthier. I applaud your determination to address both issues at once but I do hope that if you find it difficult to stay equally on track with both changes that you make smoking cessation your priority.
It's great that you have the patches ready and are almost out of cigarettes - you seem to have a plan and are very determined to succeed and that is key. This resolve will help see you through the inevitable rough times. The more clearly you can visualize yourself as a nonsmoker, the more likely you are to succeed.
Good luck and be easy on yourself!
