Thanks so much for your post.

Hopefully this time around you can have a successful "quitting".  Our site has lots of materials that can help educate and motivate you.

First, you should read the section on Understanding Addication.  It covers the basics about smoking, its risks and other general facts about this habit. As well, you may want to read about managing smoking cessation.

It sounds like you are well on your way to living a more healthy life having improved your eating habits and losing weight.  Check out our Lifestyle Changes section in case you need a bit more info on how to live a healthier life.

Hope this helps - please come back and let us know how you are doing.  This community is all about support.

    All the best, Sue

Still haven't been able to quit. Cut back by quite a bit, but still habe to stop. Just got done another pack. After doing some reading on this site I had set my new date to quit for March 1st, so I guess this is it. Shall see how long it will last this time aroundEmbarassed Still saving $10.00 for each day I don't buy a pack to put towards my Bowflex.

It's great that you have been able to achieve some smoke-free days - keep it up and soon you will have that Bowflex!

The first few weeks are always the hardest and the important thing is to not to be too hard on yourself when you relapse. Relapses are pretty much inevitable. The key is to treat each one as a single event that is now behind you and get right back on track by quitting again. I had to go through that cycle too many times to count but eventually it worked.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

    best,

    anne
