    Thanks Anne for this thought provoking article.  It is so amazing how complicated all of this - companies, farmers, taxes, subsidies, etc. - is for the average consumer. Hopefully no matter what, more and more people will realize how bad it is for them and maybe stop on their own!

    Thanks for your note, Sue. Sometimes it seems like the more facts you have, the more you want to tune it all out. I know information is power, but I also know quitting smoking comes from somewhere deeper than logic. The tobacco industry is powerful and well-connected, but as people wake up to how they are being manipulated, hopefully that will add to their sense of outrage and lead to the emotional strength it takes to quit for good.
