Red wine may lower smokers' lung cancer risk
Drinking moderate amounts of red wine may reduce smokers' risk of developing lung cancer, a new study suggests. Researchers looked at data on 84,170 men and found that the risk of developing lung cancer for smokers who drank one or two glasses of red wine per day was 60 percent lower than for smokers who didn't drink. Overall, smokers who drank red wine had a two percent lower risk for each glass they drank per month. White wine, beer, and liquor did not have the same effects, researchers say.
