Today, I'd like to talk to you about activities you can do with someone with Alzheimer's disease. You can select activities based on things that your loved one liked to do earlier in their life. For instance, my mom loved to sew and loved bright fabrics, so I bought a coloring book with mandalas and we would sit together and color the patterns. People with Alzheimer's disease remember their earlier days. Find photos of their younger days and use those to spur discussions. Cooking is a great activity you can do with people with Alzheimer's. Baking cookies, kneading bread making salads are great activities. You can also garden with a loved one with Alzheimer's. Go out and plant things or weed together. Many Alzheimer's patients actually like to fold laundry and that's a great task you can give to them. Another great activity you can do with a person with Alzheimer's disease is watch old movies and television shows. Many people enjoy spending time with their dogs and cats. That's how I see it as an Alzheimer's disease advocate. You can also go to Google and type in "Alzheimer's games" to get further information. Thank you for watching.
