Today I'd like to talk to you about how you can help a loved one with Alzheimer's remember better. During the early stages of Alzheimer's, people may use BlackBerries and other technologies as memory tools. Post-it notes can be a useful tool on helping people with Alzheimer's disease locate things around the house. A marker board can be a very useful tool. You can use this to help an Alzheimer's patient keep track of the day, know what the agenda for the day is, and know what future events to plan for. Clocks can provide a challenge to people Alzheimer's disease. Be sure to choose one with numbers, instead of clocks with Roman numerals or without numbers. Calendars also can be challenging. Choose one that only shows one day of the week as opposed to the whole month. That's how I see it as an Alzheimer's disease advocate. You can also go to Google and type in "Alzheimer's memory tools" for additional information. Thank you for watching.
