June is Migraine and Headache Awareness Month (MHAM). As you may remember, the theme for this year’s MHAM is “The Art of Migraine and Headache Management,” acknowledging that effective treatments are different for everyone and often require a multidisciplinary approach.
I hope you are taking advantage of the opportunities to raise awareness about Migraine and other headache disorders. The only way to reduce the stigma of Migraine is to share the truth about Migraine. What better ambassadors than those who live with Migraine.
Awareness activities are designed to make it easy to participate, even if you are still struggling with severe symptoms. Something as simple as changing your social media profile or sharing links to content created by others goes a long way. Each small effort matters. When combined with other small steps, they add up to a significant impact. We are not alone.

Move Against Migraine Facebook profile photo frame
Are you hooked on Facebook? Share your commitment to Migraine awareness by adding the American Migraine Foundation’s (AMF) profile picture frame to your profile photo. Check out the AMF Facebook page to get the frame.

The National Headache Foundation sets the theme for MHAM every year. Join their Show Purple | Show Support campaign to tell the world you support Migraine awareness.
Shades for Migraine World Migraine Solidarity Day
June 21 is the longest day of the year. Sensitivity to light is a common symptom of Migraine and many patients wear sunglasses to cope. On that day, everyone is encouraged to wear sunglasses all day in solidarity with those living with Migraine. Take a selfie and post it on your social media profile, too.
