Can Acid Reflux Cause Lump In Throat Feeling And Ear Pain?

I have had a feeling of lump in my throat for about three weeks now. I saw my GP, who said that I probably have acid reflux. Well, I wasn't satisfied, so I saw an ENT who put a scope down my nose and throat and said yes, it is acid reflux. I was put on Aciphex and now a week after that I am having ear discomfort, like fluid is in my ears. They feel plugged and I still have the lump-in-my-throat feeling.

Is this typical of acid reflux? I have never had heartburn! I am so confused. I have an appointment with a gastroenterologist on Monday. Any advice would be very much appreciated. I feel like I am going to choke every time I swallow. It scares me and I can't stop thinking of throat cancer.

Hi worried -

I know this is a very old question and you've probably long since discovered the problem with your throat and ear. If that's the case, perhaps you could come back and tell us all what the diagnosis and treatment were? It might be really helpful to someone else who has the symptoms.

Here are some links that might be helpful to you, in any case. I hope you're feeling much better now!
