If You Are Allergic To Chicken Are You Also Allergic To Turkey Meat?

Answer

Have you seen an allergist and confirmed the chicken meat allergy?

While it is possible to be allergic to almost anything, allergies to animal meat are uncommon.

In the U.S., the 8 foods people are most commonly allergic to are milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, wheat, peanuts and soy.

Chickens and turkeys are different specifies so, theoretically, an allergy to one wouldn't automatically mean that you're allergic to the other.

I urge you, however, do see an allergist about this. It may not be the chicken, but some other ingredient or substance that is triggering allergy symptoms.
