Credit: Thinkstock Question:
Any good substitutes that are all natural for Effexor XR?
I have been suffering with depression from age 13. I have also been on either Xanax or clonazepam since then also… I find the only drug that seems to lift me out of it is Effexor XR…
It will be interesting to see what our members have to share on this. I did try St. John’s Wort, with doctor’s supervision, but it didn’t even begin to address my depression.
If Effexor XR is working, why do you want to change? “All natural” isn’t necessarily better. Natural substances act as drugs in our bodies too; they were our first drugs. Just as prescription medications do, they also have potential side effects, interactions with other medications, and the potential to be harmful if used when we have certain medical conditions. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that prescription meds are “better,” just pointing out that we need to approach them with the same caution and respect as we would if they were prescription meds.
