Do Artificial Sweetners Effect Ms Sufferers?

It seems like no sugar jelly which has Splenda in it is giving me increased MS symptoms, is this possible?

I discontinued all products containing any "fake" sweeteners (such as aspartame) when I was pregnant 20 years ago. They contain so many ingredients that are unfamiliar and I don't know what they are. Aspartame is a food additive and something I didn't want to put in my body.

In the Paleo Diet, Dr. Terry Wahl's claims she reversed her MS by following the diet. She claims, " Artificial sweeteners like aspartame should be avoided at all cost, as aspartame toxicity often reveals itself through central nervous system disorders and compromised immunity, and can mimic the symptoms of and/or worsen several diseases, including MS."

In my experience, I avoid anything with any artificial sweeteners. I do not drink any soda, let alone diet soda. I drink water, coffee and tea, and once in a while cranberry juice for its known helpful properties against urinary tract infections.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Best in health,
