Can I Take Asprin And Lipitor At The Same Time?
I have been taking asprin for some time now as my family has history of heart problems. I have cholesterol towards the higer limit of Normal. My doctor asked me to take Asprin as a preventative mesaure, and also started me on Zucor, recently I was asked to try Lipitor, however, i was asked to take it 30mins after dinner and i keep forgetting it, and i miss taking them. I am away from my home at the moment an i was wondering if i can change the pattern and start taking it after breakfast. I tak asprin after breakfast so will there be a problem if i take asprin and lipitor togather?
Thanks for your question. Lipitor is a cholesterol lowering drug that lowers total cholesterol and LDL (bad cholesterol), while raising HDL good cholesterol). Lipitor can be taken with or without food, and unlike other statin medications, it can be taken in the morning or evening. As you know, establishing a routine is best to avoid missing doses.
Yes, it is safe to take aspirin at the same time as Lipitor. So, if taking medication in the morning works best for you, then Lipitor should bit in nicely.
