Do Beans Cause Blood Sugar Spikes?

Do beans (black, pinto, garbanzo) cause blood sugar spikes? Is there a difference in the way it affects blood sugars in dried versus canned?

Hello! You should be ok eating those beans. Everyone is different. The best thing to do is test your blood sugar two hours after you eat and if your bg's rise then you may have to lower the amount of beans you eat. Beans do have carbs and some beans like pork & beans will cause your bg's to rise. Click here, it will take you to some information about beans and diabetes.
