Answer

Hi Jo - Welcome to "the club no one wants to join!" Sorry you're having to go through this. Your Nottingham score is on the high side, signaling a more aggressive cancer; but there are many, many more factors that impact your prognosis.

Please study our Guide to Understanding your Pathology Report for help interpreting the "medicalese" you see in your report. And I'm sure that your oncologist will discuss your results with you fully, at one of your upcoming appointments.

Do you have a good chance of surviving? Without knowing your complete diagnosis, that's hard to say; but the significant majority of women DO survive breast cancer; there are millions of breast cancer survivors in America alone. So statistically speaking, yes, you have an excellent chance of going through treatment and living a long and health life. Good luck - and stay in touch here, OK? We can help -; PJH
