My Breasts Are Sore And Tingling; I’m Not Pregnant. Could This Be Cancer?
For 2 days now I’ve been experiencing tingling in both my breasts. They’re sore and tender to the touch. There’s no way I could be pregnant, as I’ve just had my period, and use an IUD. I’m also tired and have no energy to do anything. Please help me.
Because the soreness and tenderness is in both breasts, it’s very unlikely that this is a breast cancer symptom. It sounds more like a hormonal issue; breast soreness is often the result of fluctuating hormone levels, which can happen even when you’re not pregnant or having your period.
As you mention, your symptoms - breast soreness, fatigue - are typical of early pregnancy. Did you know that it’s possible to be pregnant and still have a period? As for the IUD, no contraceptive method is 100% effective, so maybe you shouldn’t completely rule out pregnancy as a possibility.
If you’re not running a fever, you could take some extra naps and see if you feel better before you call the doctor. Sometimes if you watch and wait a few days, you have more specific information to give the doctor. However, if you aren’t feeling better within a week, it will be time to go in and get checked.
