I have a burning sensation on my right knee when I kneel on it or sometimes when I walk. Sometimes there are times when I get a stabbing pain on the left side of the knee and can't bear weight on that leg. What could this be?

Answer

Hi, Lyn,

Welcome to our community. I am not a doctor, but a burning sensation usually means you have some sort of nerve irritation. The stabbing pain you get in your knee could be caused by a number of things. I sometimes get stabbing pains in my knees, but I have OA in both knees and it is pretty bad. I would suggest you talk to your doctor about these symptoms so that the cause can be identified and you can get some relief.

Pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong. Please contact your doctor, and let us know how you are doing.
