Can Bursitis Spread From Your Elbow To Another Place, Like My Wrist?
I was told I had bursitis in my left elbow last year in the ER. Ive had no problem since. But this morning I woke up and my left wrist is swollen really bad and is very painful. I havent hit it nor is there any bruising. Pain goes down to my fingers. Ant idea of what is going on?
The bursa is a fluid filled sac that acts like a cushion between bone, tendons, skin, and ligaments. Bursitis is inflammation of this sac that is accompanied by the swelling you describe. However, that does not mean that is what is happening here. Many things can cause these symptoms from injury like a sprain, or overuse to some type of autoimmune disorder or other disease process. For this reason, you need to see your doctor to determine exactly what it is so the right treatment can begin.
