Chest Pain With Fast Heart Rate

Chest Pain With Fast Heart Rate

I experienced chest pain with unsual (fast) heart beat, followed by elevated pulse. There was numbness or pain in my arms, shoulder or neck. The pain has subsided, but I am still a bit concerned as to what may have generated the symptoms. I am also curious to know whether it was some form of heart attack etc.

Answer

Hi Paulette,

I recommend you contact your physician ASAP. These can indeed be signs that you're experiencing some kind of cardiac-related problem, but only a doctor who is able to do the needed tests and an exam will be able to tell you for certain. Go to the ER if it's the only option available to you.
